Date
The new iPhone is set to be released in September. An investment analyst has confidently predicted that the announcement event will take place on Tuesday 14th September. It should then be released for general sale the following week.
Name
iPhone 13 (and 13 mini, 13 Pro and so on) appears to be the most likely name for the new model. This rumour is backed up by a report from the Economic Daily News which stated "the supply chain has reported that this year's new phone will be named iPhone 13."

But there has been some resistance to this name simply because of the fear that 13 is an unlucky number. Apple's own engineers have reportedly been referring to the device internally as the iPhone 12S. This would align with the 'tick-tock' policy pursued from 2009 to 2015 (and returned to in 2018) where iPhone launches alternated between numbers and updated “S” models. Ultimately though, it does look like the new iPhone will be named iPhone 13.
Design
The 2021 iPhone lineup is set to look similar to the 2020 iPhone lineup. Four devices are expected, sized at 5.4-inches, 6.1-inches, and 6.7-inches. Two of the iPhones will be higher-end "Pro" models and two will be positioned as lower-cost, more affordable options.
Apple typically sticks to a similar design for three or four generations of new iPhone releases before carrying out a radical redesign. For that reason, we should not expect to see any huge design changes for iPhone 13. We will probably see the familiar square-edged design of the 12 series.
Features
While major design changes are not expected, we should see a number of improvements such as a better camera, a faster A-series processor, a new 5G chip from Qualcomm, an increased battery life, and some tweaks to the notch.

When it comes to improved camera technology, rumours suggest we could see the larger sensor found in the iPhone 12 Pro Max extend to iPhone 13 models, along with the Sensor-Shift Stabilization feature for better auto-focus and stabilization across the lineup. For battery life, iPhone 13 models are expected to have a larger battery capacity than iPhone 12 models, with Apple swapping components to allow more room for larger batteries.
