Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is one of the most anticipated product and software releases of the year. Thousands gather to delve into the atmosphere of all things tech from the world's leading company. The week-long conference has been scheduled from June 6th - 10th to be full of keynote sessions and inspiring talks for the direction of Apple.
In less than 2 months, Apple will soon be introducing major updates to present and future Apple products to come. With operating system updates to the Mac range, iPads, Apple watches and even Apple TV.
As we all know, Apple do like to keep their releases under wraps, however, we will discuss some things we know to be featured in this year’s WWDC based on the consistency of releases we see at Apple’s WWDC events from previous years.
iOS 16
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has speculated that Apple users are due to see significant improvements in the notification system in iOS 16. Group notifications have improved the layout on iPhones but can still be cluttered from time to time. We anticipate seeing a more focused notification system on the horizon to streamline Apple users' experience.
Not only that, rumours have speculated to include developments in the emergency functions such as car crash detection in order to dial emergency services and potentially in iPhone 14 models, satellite features when no cellular coverage is available.
An unlikely, but special occurrence could also see the initiation of Apple’s virtual reality headsets which have been spoken about in the past couple of months. Many blogs and Apple content creators have been excited about the release information on this, so we are hopeful in hearing out what Apple has in store for its users in entering the AR/VR realm.
MacOS, iPadOS and watchOS
Alongside the general iOS 16 updates, we are expecting some improvements to the synchronisation between iPads and Macs but this has yet to be confirmed.
Refinement of Apple watch faces and system upgrades to low power modes have been speculated by bloggers for the upcoming watchOS 9. Not only that, but more activity workouts and health monitoring to increase synchronisation between the Apple watch and the user’s health.
Many potential releases at the WWDC are still unknown but we anticipate in the upcoming weeks to hear more on what we can expect.
