The B Corp Movement is a global initiative that aims to redefine success in business by encouraging companies to balance profit with purpose. B Corps, or Benefit Corporations, are for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous social and environmental standards. The movement emphasises using business as a force for good, promoting transparency, accountability, and sustainability.

Becoming a B Corp

To become a B Corp, a company undergoes a thorough assessment of its social and environmental performance. This assessment evaluates various aspects of the company's operations, including its impact on workers, customers, the community, and the environment. Companies must achieve a minimum verified score and make a legal commitment to consider stakeholder interests alongside shareholder profits.

Peak Design: B Corp Success Story

Peak Design, a manufacturer of everyday carry solutions, is a shining example of a successful B Corp. Founded in 2010, Peak Design creates innovative and sustainable products while prioritising social and environmental responsibility. In 2019, Peak Design became a certified B Corp, solidifying its commitment to ethical business practices.

As a B Corp, Peak Design has demonstrated its dedication to sustainability through initiatives such as reducing waste in packaging, sourcing eco-friendly materials, and ensuring fair labour practices in its supply chain.

One of Peak Design's core missions is to succeed at the expense of nobody, reflecting the brand's strong ethical values.

Mujjo: Achieving B Corp Status

Mujjo, a Dutch company specialising in premium tech accessories, also stands out as a notable member of the B Corp Movement. In 2023, Mujjo achieved B Corp certification, marking a significant milestone in its mission to create positive change.

Mujjo utilises recycled materials whenever possible, ensuring their products are recyclable. Their packaging is entirely free of plastic and made from 100% Forest Stewardship Council-certified paper. The brand utilises eco-friendly leather that's rated Gold for environmental standards by the Leather Working Group.

As part of this movement, Mujjo aims to use business as a force for good.
